Social CRM In Tourism Marketing
Social Media offers tourism marketing a chance to build a relationship. To have a direct relationship with travelers and get to know them. Having a conversation with travelers is a wonderful opportunity to build a relationship. But few marketers have fully leveraged that opportunity. After all, what do you know about Facebook Profiles?
Facebook Profiles
A lot actually. The Facebook Profile contains information about their preferences, interests, demographics and more. It's the data that allows the Facebook Ads to be so targeted. Instead of the usual account id, an email address, the Facebook Profile uses the profile name. And they can use this profile name to opt-in to your marketing programs.
Social & CRM
So, the next step is to marry that social profile with Honeycomb. All you need is the profile name. For quite some time we've been droning on about serving data out of Honeycomb to create relationships with travelers. Most of that has taken shape on the Web. But it works in Social Media the same way. You can personalize the content on a Facebook page using data from their profile and Honeycomb.
Examples
Loyalty Programs can be accessed using the Facebook Profile. Hilton makes their Hilton HHonors program available as well as reservations.

If you're ever thought about what a Loyalty Program is, think bigger. It can take many forms. And if it's Social, it's mobile. Bonus.
